A UNIQUE RESTAURANT CONCEPT ABOUT TO OPEN ITS DOORS IN CENTRAL BRUSSELS

Enjoy an unforgettable evening at Dans le Noir ?, the unique concept where guests eat in pitch darkness. The new venue is opening within Warwick Hotel, which is located in the heart of Brussels next to the Grand-Place. Based on high quality ingredients especially fresh fruits and vegetables, our creative cuisine will make you step out of your comfort zone during this timeless moment.

AN UNUSUAL EXPERIENCE

Have you ever tried to eat in the dark placing a blindfold over your eyes? A great way to challenge your capability to recognize your favourite food among others that look alike! It is called “blind tasting”, and the result can be very unexpected!

But we go further still, by offering you an immersive experience. This is the reason why Dans le Noir ? is regularly ranked among the 10 most original restaurants in the world.

We have been practicing our expertise in the dark for 16 years. In our restaurants, blindfolding your eyes is unnecessary as the room is completely dark. You will be asked to place all potential light sources such as lighter, mobile phones, cameras, etc. in the cloakroom provided free of charge. Our blind or partially sighted guides are doing a great job, and they will serve and guide you during all the experience to ensure you are enjoying your special dinner.

« The food is good, really good, but it’s the experience of eating in total darkness and having no concept of who you’re speaking to that’s so memorable! » John on TripAdvisor, London, March 2020.

WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES TO SAY SO: DANS LE NOIR ? IS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE AT DIFFERENT LEVELS

A sensory journey: The Head Chef Gregory LAUWAERT proposes a surprise menu, taking into account your alimentary restrictions or allergies. Deprived of your vision, you reconnect with your other senses and feel new sensations. Be aware of what you eat, and play and rediscover flavours, textures, temperatures. After experiencing your meal in the dark, we will show you what you’ve just eaten.

An open-minded conviviality: In this unknown environment and without your mobile phone, you live in the present moment. You completely reassess your relationship with others and the world, and communication becomes simpler and more spontaneous. Preconception and visual judgements do not exist in the dark.

A human exchange: The visually impaired waiters become your eyes, and they guide you in an intriguing world. This reversal of roles allows us to “perceive” the richness of diversity, because our guides make their difference a real strength.
